CRITIQUES and comments on his writing
Although critiques and reviews suggest that Orwell’s characters are disguised as animals, and the human characters are not fully developed. Where“the animals and events display a single dominant trait” (Leyburn, 1962, p. 219) that his use of animals will “simply result laughters at a human foible” (1962, p. 219). However, Orwell’s skillful manipulation of his point of view towards totalitarian power creates a convincing atmosphere for the reader. Orwell’s story precisely depicts how a revolution can betray and destroy those it was meant to help. The one dimensional traits of the characters and events does not result to a shallow critique of Stalinism and Marxism. But rather such successfully allows the reader to identify the danger of such power more clearly in an insightful manner. |
